    Check the fit at home

    1. Knob to palm. Stand the bat next to the player's leg. The knob should reach the middle of their palm with the arm hanging down.
    2. The 30-second hold. Have them hold the bat straight out to the side by the handle. If it won't stay level for 20 to 30 seconds, it's too heavy.
    3. Watch the swing. If the barrel drops or the swing slows down late, go one ounce lighter.
